Following on from ample experience in a further education setting supporting young people with additional needs, I have gained detailed experience in tutoring one-to-one. I have guided several students through their English GCSEs with confidence leading to highly positive results. My lessons will be individually catered to your needs starting off with a consultation to see where my support is most needed and going from there. I can bring in my own resources to guide you through your exams and give you new exercises to work on or I can support with schoolwork, offering you personalised feedback and guidance through homework etc.

I always keep my lessons fun and encouraging and having achieved 9s at GCSE and As at A Level for my own English qualifications I have an extensive knowledge of how to achieve in the exams. Some of the qualities that I pride in my own English success include a strong knowledge of vocabulary and grammar as well as a creative skill for text analysis. All such skills I would like to pass on in my teaching.

Given that I am only a recent graduate myself, I can bring a fresh knowledge of our education system from both angles (as an educator and as a student) and support my students in all areas of their English studies, both pastoral and academic. I don't want my lessons to only be focused on passing exams, although I do appreciate the importance of understanding how to achieve highly in them. I also want to inspire my students in the way that I am inspired by the English language, making my lessons relaxed and creative spaces to learn in.
