As GCSE Maths is a conceptual subject, I aim to provide guidance on understanding the concepts intended in every topic to provide students with robust foundational understanding of every topic to ensure that they will be able to build on the concepts to approach questions in imaginative and conceptual ways. I found that by asking students to picture to concepts using their imagination helps them to better understand and remember what is taught instead of bombarding them with mathematical rules and leave them to answer questions. I also found that this is the best way to learn this subject while I was completing my IGCSE qualification, which is equivalent to the GCSE. I used to teach Additional Mathematics to IGCSE students after I graduated from high school and it has helped them to achieve A to A* grades, some were promoted to head of mentors at school too!
