I usually begin with a diagnostic assessment to see what your level is currently, evaluate your existing knowledge, and work from areas that need developing. I also use the lexical approach and focus on discourse. In other words, I focus on communicative skills, as well as explaining and clarifying grammatical rules. I also use images, videos, and real-life authentic materials to help enhance the learning objectives. I also talk to my students to gain an idea and understanding of what works for them through weekly feedback and reviews. I will also make sure to review your assignments that I set, and provide you with the flexibility to present your skills to me via challenges that I set. This reinforces your ability to apply the knowledge you learn from me outside of our lessons. Therefore, you are not just learning in our lessons, you are also making use of the new skills.
I teach lessons using Zoom but I can accommodate by using Teams. My lessons are PowerPoint created, and I use MS office. Some work will be set using Google office suite for multiple choice worksheets. Other platforms such as EdPuzzle and Padlet will be used for more fun writing practices. I require 24 hour notice for cancellations, and take block bookings for upto 4 weeks. My hours are limited to evenings and weekends, and can be contacted using the information provided.
