Svetlana Korzun

I graduated from a pedagogical university in Moscow, Russia, and have dedicated over 30 years of my life to teaching. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching Russian in several weekend Russian schools in London, working with children and adults of different ages and backgrounds.
Through these years, I’ve learned that the key to successful language learning is genuine interest. When students are curious, engaged, and enjoy the process, progress comes naturally. That’s why I always strive to make my lessons dynamic, interactive, and enjoyable. I use games, songs, creative tasks, and conversational exercises that help students feel comfortable and confident using Russian in real-life situations.
My approach combines traditional methods of language instruction with modern communicative techniques. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced in context, and every new topic is supported by practical activities such as storytelling, role-playing, or short cultural discussions. I also introduce students to Russian traditions, literature, and customs — because learning a language means discovering the world behind it.
I take pride in creating a warm, supportive atmosphere where every student feels encouraged to speak, make mistakes, and grow. My goal is not only to teach Russian but also to inspire a lasting love for the language and culture.
