My lessons are calm, structured, and completely judgement-free. I know maths can feel intimidating — especially when you've had a few bad experiences in a classroom — so my
first priority is making sure you feel comfortable enough to say "I don't get it" without feeling embarrassed. That's where the real learning starts.

My lessons are calm, structured, and completely judgement-free. I know maths can feel intimidating — especially when you've had a few bad experiences in a classroom — so my
first priority is making sure you feel comfortable enough to say "I don't get it" without feeling embarrassed. That's where the real learning starts.
A typical session goes like this: we pick a topic you're struggling with, I explain it in a way that actually makes sense (not the textbook way, my way — with examples that
relate to things you care about), and then we work through questions together. I'll watch how you approach each problem, spot exactly where things go wrong, and gently
steer you back on track. By the end, you'll be solving similar problems on your own — and more importantly, you'll understand the method, not just the answer.
We'll also spend time on exam technique — because knowing the maths is only half the battle. I'll show you how to read questions properly, how to pick up marks even when
you're stuck, and how to manage your time in the exam hall so you don't run out of steam halfway through.
My background is in Computer Science (University of York, 2:1), which means I've used maths at a pretty advanced level for the last three years — but I also remember being
the student who didn't get it straight away. That mix of strong subject knowledge and genuine empathy is what I think makes me a good tutor. I'm not here to lecture you —
I'm here to help you figure it out, at your pace, in your way.
