My lessons are structured, engaging, and fully tailored to the individual needs and goals of each student. I specialise in A-Level Psychology and Sociology, with a strong focus on building both subject knowledge and exam technique to help students improve their confidence and achieve higher grades.
Each session is interactive and student-led, meaning I adapt the pace and content based on what the student needs most. I use clear explanations, step-by-step breakdowns, and real-life examples to make complex theories and studies easier to understand. I also encourage active participation through questioning and discussion, helping students to move beyond memorisation and develop genuine understanding.
A key focus of my teaching is exam success. I support students with essay structure, evaluation skills, application of knowledge, and understanding mark schemes. We regularly practise exam-style questions and work on planning responses under timed conditions to build confidence and performance in exams. I also introduce revision techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition to support long-term memory and retention.
Depending on the student’s goals, lessons may include revising difficult topics, targeting weak areas, creating revision resources, or practising exam questions in detail. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.
My approach is informed by my experience as a psychology graduate and SEN Teaching Assistant, which has strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and support students with confidence-building and motivation. Overall, my goal is to help students feel prepared, capable, and confident in achieving their target grades.
