I aim to make my lessons as engaging and effective as possible, ensuring that students feel supported and confident throughout their learning journey. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student, depending on how they learn best, and I work hard to build a positive learning environment where questions are encouraged and progress is consistently recognised. Whether a student is aiming for a top grade or simply looking to feel more comfortable with the subject, I structure lessons to target their specific needs.
I generally use Google Meet or Zoom for my online lessons. These platforms allow me to share my screen, annotate questions live, and work interactively with students as if we were sitting side by side. My approach is centred on clarity, structure, and repetition where needed. I break down difficult concepts into manageable steps and ensure students understand both the techniques and the underlying reasoning behind them. Lessons often include past paper questions and targeted practice based on each student's goals and areas of weakness.
I have over four years of private tutoring experience and have worked with a wide range of students, particularly at GCSE and A-level Maths. One of my proudest achievements was helping a student move from a D to an A through patient explanation and consistent exam practice. I achieved 91% in A-level Maths myself and went on to study at the University of St Andrews, one of the top universities in the UK. My academic background gives me the subject knowledge to explain material clearly and accurately, and I always aim to make the content feel accessible and less intimidating.
Many students struggle with confidence in Maths, especially when it comes to problem-solving or applying methods under exam pressure. I address this by explaining the "why" behind each step and encouraging students to develop logical thinking, not just memorisation. This helps them build resilience and independence, which is key not only for exams but for long-term understanding. I am passionate about helping students see Maths as a subject they can master with the right guidance and mindset.
