I am a friendly and supportive tutor with a 2:1 degree in Civil Engineering and a strong background in Maths and Science. I teach KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level Maths, and I aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs.
My lessons are structured around building confidence and understanding step by step. I like to begin by identifying the areas a student finds most difficult, then breaking topics down into simple explanations with guided examples and practice questions. I also regularly use exam-style questions to help students improve technique, accuracy, and confidence under timed conditions.
Alongside my academic background, I worked as a Junior Engineering Technician, where I developed strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. I also completed TEFL teaching practice, where I planned and delivered lessons and learned how to adapt teaching styles for different learners.
I always aim to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students become more independent and confident learners.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods depending on the student’s ability, pace, and confidence level. Some students benefit from visual explanations and worked examples, while others learn best through repetition and practice questions. I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping students stay motivated throughout their learning journey. I also believe communication with parents and students is important to track progress and identify areas that need extra support. My aim is to help students feel more confident in their abilities and develop a positive attitude towards Maths and learning overall.
