I have over 7 years experience working with both primary and secondary children delivering interventions to target groups as well as working 1:1 with children who have additional needs. In my last long term role i worked for 12 months in a year 4 class supporting two children who had speech and language difficulties. After receiving training, I was able to use visual cues and communication cards to help these children access the curriculum and make progress.
Suad has worked with a range of special needs including autism and challenging behaviour through her work as a supply teaching assistant. I understands the importance of routine and consistency and would provide children with short chunks of learning and regular breaks in order to sustain their concentration and help them keep calm. I would often help particular children develop their social skills by supporting them on the playground and modelling appropriate behaviour.
Throughout my work, I have been actively involved in the lesson planning process, ensuring that her booster group had pitch-appropriate activities in order to maximise progress. I would regular provide the teacher with feedback and assess her groups next steps in learning.
