My lessons are bespoke, based on the knowledge, ability, needs, and exam specification of each student. I prefer small group, online sessions, capped at four students, as these give students the benefit of close attention and peer-based work (with English, I find that students can learn a great deal from one another, as well as from me).

I teach using a combination of Google Meet and Google Classroom. The main benefits of Google Classroom include: interaction and instant feedback with assignments as they happen; sharing useful materials (e.g. exam papers); sharing useful links to other online resources.

I pride myself on my passion for my subject and making it accessible to every learner, no matter what their level of ability is or what their feelings are towards this core subject. As a society, we put a lot of pressure on young people to succeed in English: this is easier for some than it is for others, and in my 13 years' of experience as a classroom teacher, I put every effort I could into helping young people achieve the grades they needed. As a tutor, this is still my goal: I want students to feel confident and understood, learning crucial skills of empathy and literacy that they can take with them into adulthood.
