What is taught in the lessons is completely up to you. Before each session (ideally a few days in advance), you can let me know the specific topic or area you’d like us to focus on, and I will prepare a lesson that matches the national curriculum requirements, AQA’s specification and your preferred learning style. Whether you want help with Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science, I design each lesson around your individual needs.

Each session follows a clear structure. We begin by reviewing your current understanding and identifying any misconceptions. I then break down the topic using simple explanations, diagrams, worked examples, and short, targeted review questions to help you build confidence step by step. Throughout the lesson, you will work through exam-style questions that reflect the exact format used in GCSE assessments—multiple-choice, short answer, calculations, data analysis, and longer written responses.

I also place strong emphasis on exam technique: understanding command words such as “describe,” “explain,” and “evaluate,” knowing how to approach 6-mark questions, avoiding common pitfalls, and applying knowledge to unfamiliar scenarios. If needed, I can also help you revise the required practicals by covering key methods, variables, graph skills, and the types of questions typically asked about them.

As a current science teacher with experience guiding students through the GCSE curriculum, I know the level of detail and understanding needed for success.
