My lessons would be supportive, relaxed and centred around the individual student rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe students make the most progress when they feel listened to, understood and encouraged, so building trust and creating a positive environment would always come first.
I would focus on helping students develop confidence, resilience, motivation and practical life skills alongside their academic goals. Sessions would be structured but flexible, adapting to the needs of the individual student. For some, this may involve improving organisation, study habits and time management, while for others it may involve building self-belief, managing stress or overcoming feelings of being overwhelmed.
My coaching style is calm, empathetic and encouraging. I use reflective questioning, active listening and goal-setting techniques to help students better understand their challenges and recognise their own strengths. Rather than simply giving answers, I would help students build the confidence and tools to solve problems independently and develop long-term habits that support both academic success and personal wellbeing.
I also believe accountability is important, so lessons would include realistic goal-setting, progress reviews and celebrating small wins to help students stay motivated and recognise their development over time. I would aim to create sessions that feel constructive and positive rather than pressured or overly formal.
Professionally, I have extensive experience coaching and supporting people within high-pressure and emotionally complex environments, which has helped me develop strong communication skills, patience and emotional awareness. I am also currently completing a Professional Diploma in Coaching & Mentoring, which continues to strengthen my coaching approach and understanding of personal development.
