Hello! My name is Stephan and I’m a London based gap year student who has completed four A-levels and is preparing to study law at university. I’ve achieved strong academic results (4 A* at A-level and twelve GCSEs at grades 8–9). I also run and promote peer seminars at my school where older students guide debates on legal and ethical topics, and I’ve been shadowing a barrister to deepen my understanding of legal argument and case analysis.
What I tutor:
1. A-level Maths (including problem solving and exam technique)
2. A-level English Literature and essay writing (close reading, structure, textual context)
3. A-level Russian (grammar, reading, writing and speaking)
3. GCSE Maths and English support, revision planning, and homework help
My approach:
I believe tutoring should be structured, practical and tailored. Typical steps I use:
1. Initial diagnostic: quick past paper question or short writing sample to identify strengths and gaps.
2. Personalised plan: clear short- and medium-term goals (topic checklist, past papers to complete, target grade).
3. Active lessons: focused practice (worked examples, timed exam questions, model essay structures) with immediate feedback.
4. Skill building- for Maths: method and proof, showing working clearly; for essays: thesis development, paragraph structure, use of evidence and critical context.
5. Exam technique & time management: strategies for choosing questions, pacing, and performing under timed conditions.
6. Progress tracking & feedback: short written feedback after each session and next-steps tasks.
What you can expect from me:
I’m patient, clear, and goal-oriented. Lessons are interactive: I’ll model techniques, set realistic homework, and explain why each strategy works so students can apply it independently. I teach both online and in person and adapt explanations to the student’s learning style (visual, step-by-step, or discussion-led).
