I have just finished and thoroughly enjoyed my undergraduate Mathematics degree and want to spread my passion for maths to other students. Over the 3 years of my degree I've gained a lot of experience in how to grasp and become competent in things that at first seemed foreign and sometimes even impossible. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE maths and an A in A-level maths so I'm very familiar with the topics within each. My degree has been purely exam based so I have a-lot of experience in preparing for exams, that my students will hugely benefit from. I'm aware that maths is very challenging and can seem like a completely different language, so in my lessons I aim to build strong foundations in a topic before tackling more challenging parts. I also believe the best way of learning maths is by doing and my lessons will reflect this with a range of practise questions of ranging difficulty, ensuring that the lesson isn't a walk in the park - failing and receiving help is an essential part of getting better in this subject. The lessons will be adaptive and will cater towards my students capabilities and confidence in the certain topic, which I hope to learn more about prior to each session. I hope to do the calls on Zoom and start with presenting the basics of a specific topic before the main focus of the session which will be solving problems, including exam-style questions. I think my expertise in this subject is excellent and I am confident in my ability to explain concepts to struggling students, I'm a new tutor who is very keen to improve my teaching skills through helping others.
