Space Learning West Lothian

SPACE Learning West Lothian is a small local tuition team offering Maths, Sciences and Music tuition in a relaxed and supportive setting near Dechmont.

Our aim is fairly simple: to give students the time, space and individual support that can sometimes be difficult to get in a busy classroom. We work with students who want help keeping up with schoolwork, preparing for qualifications, building confidence in a difficult subject, or simply developing an interest they already enjoy.

On the academic side, we offer tuition in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, including support for National 4/5 and Higher qualifications. Our academic tuition is backed by seven years of private tutoring experience, together with a background in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Microbiology, postgraduate study in Regenerative Medicine and previous PhD research.

Lessons are not taught from a fixed script. We normally begin by working out what the student already understands, where they are getting stuck and what they are currently covering at school. Difficult topics can then be broken down and explained in a way that makes sense to that particular student. Current coursework, upcoming tests and individual problem areas can all be worked into sessions as needed.

Our Music, Music Theory and Music Technology tuition is delivered in collaboration with InTune Music Tuition, an established Bathgate studio. Our music provision combines professional teaching experience with BA (Hons) qualifications in Popular Music and Musicianship, alongside a strong record of success across National 4/5, Higher and Advanced Higher Music Theory and Technology.

We offer one-to-one tuition and small supported study groups at our learning space, with home visits for Maths and Science tuition also available across West Lothian. We also have experience working with home educated and neurodivergent learners, and are happy to adjust the pace and structure of sessions to suit the individual student.

Tuition is available through regular monthly subscriptions which secure weekly individual sessions for our students. Prices vary depending on the level and type of tuition, with lower cost group options also available. Regular bookings reserve the same lesson time each week.

Above all, we want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking the time to properly understand what they are learning.
