I'd break down topics into smaller bits so they don't seem confusing. We'd go through things one by one. Make sure they get one part before moving on. I'd also do lots of practice questions with them starting with ones and then moving to harder ones as they get more confident.

I'd help them with exam techniques. GCSEs are not just about knowing the content. They're also about knowing how to answer questions. We'd look at exam papers go over common mistakes and practise managing time in exams. Importantly I'd make sure they feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about getting things wrong. This way they can build confidence. Feel ready, for their exams.
