My guitar lessons are relaxed, practical and tailored to each student. I believe the best way to learn guitar is by playing music you actually enjoy, so lessons are built around your interests, ability and goals rather than following a rigid programme.

For beginners, we can start with the basics such as learning chords, changing between them, strumming patterns, rhythm and simple songs. As you progress, we can introduce riffs, solos, scales, improvisation, fingerstyle, music theory and songwriting. If there’s a particular song or style you want to learn, we can use that as a starting point and build your skills around it.

Lessons are one-to-one, giving you plenty of time to play, ask questions and work through anything you're struggling with. I’ll demonstrate techniques and parts where needed, then work alongside you to make sure you understand them rather than simply memorising what to do.

I have experience as a guitarist and musician, with a strong interest in different styles and approaches to playing. I also have experience with music production and theory, which can be incorporated into lessons if you're interested in understanding the bigger picture behind the music.

Most importantly, I want lessons to feel enjoyable and encouraging. Whether your goal is to play your favourite songs, improve your technique, start writing your own music or simply pick up a guitar for the first time, I’ll help you progress at a pace that suits you.

Additionally, if the student is interested in music theory I approach this practically exploring the students song on deeper levels and pulling out the theoretical concepts to help students understand how music is composed and performed effectively.
