As a 17-year-old English tutor, my lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging, and adapted to each student’s age and ability. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their reading, writing, spelling, and speaking skills. For younger pupils in nursery and primary school, I use interactive activities such as phonics practice, storytelling, vocabulary games, and structured reading tasks to make learning enjoyable and effective. For secondary school students, I focus more on grammar accuracy, comprehension, essay writing, exam preparation, and improving overall communication skills.
Although I am still a student myself, this allows me to relate closely to learners and understand the challenges they may face in school. I regularly apply strong study techniques from my own education and stay familiar with current curriculum expectations, which helps me support students effectively. I am patient, organised, and encouraging, and I always adapt my teaching style to suit different learning speeds and confidence levels.
My lessons are structured but flexible. I usually begin by identifying the student’s strengths and areas for improvement, then plan activities that build skills step-by-step. I also make sure each lesson includes practice, feedback, and encouragement so students leave feeling more confident than when they started. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students enjoy learning English and develop long-term confidence in their abilities.
