My lessons are carefully structured, engaging and fully tailored to each individual student. With over 10 years of experience teaching Maths and English to students aged 3–16, I understand that no two learners are the same. I begin by identifying strengths, gaps and learning style, and then create a personalised approach that builds both skill and confidence.
A typical lesson includes a clear objective, guided teaching, interactive practice and independent application. For younger students, I use visual aids, practical methods and confidence-building activities to strengthen core foundations in phonics, number skills and comprehension. For older students preparing for SATs or GCSEs, lessons are more structured and exam-focused, with targeted practice, exam technique and deeper understanding of key concepts.
I place strong emphasis on explaining concepts clearly and breaking them down into manageable steps. My background in Accounting and Finance has strengthened my analytical thinking, which supports my ability to teach problem-solving effectively. However, teaching is where my passion truly lies — I genuinely enjoy helping students overcome challenges and develop belief in their own ability.
I also have experience supporting students with SEN requirements, including ASD, ADHD and dyslexia. I adapt pacing, structure and delivery to ensure a calm, supportive and focused learning environment where each child feels understood.
Above all, my aim is not only academic improvement, but long-term confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
