My lessons are calm, structured, and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I begin by getting to know how the student learns, what they find difficult, and what helps them feel confident. From there, I plan sessions that feel predictable and supportive, while remaining flexible enough to adapt in the moment.
Each lesson usually includes a short recap, clear explanation of new material, guided practice, and time to reflect or ask questions. I break down complex ideas into manageable steps and use examples, visuals, and discussion to make learning more accessible. I often encourage students to explain concepts in their own words, helping to build understanding and confidence.
I have experience tutoring children with SEN and varying learning styles, as well as working in child mental health settings. This means I place strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, patience, and positive reinforcement. I am attentive to attention levels, sensory needs, and anxiety, and I adjust pace and approach accordingly.
My goal is to create a safe, encouraging learning environment where students feel understood, supported, and capable — not just to improve academically, but to develop independence and self-belief.
