Hi, I’m a recent A-Level student with a predicted A* in Politics, currently waiting for my final results. I have received university offers to study Politics from Glasgow, Leeds, East Anglia and Cardiff, and I’m looking to use the knowledge, essay skills and exam technique I have developed to help other students succeed in A-Level Politics.

Because I have only just completed the course myself, I understand exactly what students are expected to know, where they often struggle, and what examiners are looking for in high-level answers. My lessons are designed to be supportive, clear and fully tailored to each student’s needs. Rather than using the same approach for everyone, I focus on the topics, skills and weaknesses that each individual student wants to improve, whether that is understanding Political ideas, mastering UK or US Politics content, or improving confidence with essay writing.

A large focus of my teaching is on essay structure, essay plans, key examples, revision technique and exam practice. In Politics, strong knowledge is important, but knowing how to turn that knowledge into a clear, analytical essay is what really helps students move up the mark scheme. I can help students break down questions, plan strong arguments, use evidence effectively, develop evaluation, and write in a way that directly meets the requirements of the exam board. I can also work through model paragraphs, timed questions and revision plans to make sure students feel fully prepared for exams.

My lessons will be adapted depending on what the student needs most. If a student is struggling with a particular topic, I will go through it in depth until they feel confident with it. If essay writing is the main issue, we can focus heavily on planning and writing practice. If a student already understands the content but wants to push for the top grades, I can help refine their analysis, judgement and exam technique to help them access the highest marks and provide some key examples that can be used across a broad context that will push them beyond their current marks.

My aim is to make Politics easier to understand, less overwhelming, and much more manageable by breaking topics down clearly and focusing on the areas that will make the biggest difference to a student’s grade.
