For the past year, I have been a GCSE maths tutor. All of my lessons are carried out online via a video calling platform (mostly Microsoft Teams). I use material that is found online to create questions and go over any content that students find tricky.

My main teaching style is to personalise the lesson to the student. Going over topics they feel less confident with and then working on it for an hour or two is what most of my lessons consist of. Exam questions are completed at the end of the lesson, once the student feels confident with attempting them. Whenever a student feels stuck, I suggest going over a question together and breaking it down step by step.

Overall, I teach collaboratively with my students. We work together to achieve their personal goals for their exams. Confidence is key to passing maths and I aim to build that confidence up as much as possible before the final exam.
