Shun Hei Chow

Hello! My name is Marcus, and I am a Civil Engineering student at the University of Bath with a strong academic background in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals.
I offer online tutoring for KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level students in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Online lessons are interactive and flexible, allowing students to learn comfortably from home while receiving the same personalised support as face-to-face tuition.
I have experience as a KS3 Mathematics Learning Mentor, providing one-to-one academic support and helping students overcome challenges in mathematics. This taught me that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit the student's ability, pace and learning style.
During lessons, I explain concepts clearly using step-by-step examples, encourage students to ask questions, and provide practice questions to reinforce understanding. I also help students with homework, revision planning, exam techniques and problem-solving skills, ensuring they gain both confidence and stronger academic performance.
As a Civil Engineering student, I apply mathematics and physics to real-world engineering problems every day. I enjoy helping students understand not only how to solve questions but also why the methods work, making learning more meaningful and engaging.
Before our first lesson, we will discuss your goals, strengths and areas for improvement so that I can create a personalised learning plan. My aim is not only to help students achieve better grades but also to develop independent learning skills that will benefit them throughout their education.
