My Maths lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are in primary school or preparing for GCSEs. I begin by understanding the student’s current level, strengths, and areas they find challenging, so lessons are always pitched at the right pace and level of difficulty.
Each session typically follows a clear format. I start with a short recap to reinforce previous learning, then introduce new topics using simple, step-by-step explanations. I focus on helping students understand why methods work, rather than relying on memorisation. We then work through guided examples together before moving on to independent practice, where I provide feedback and support to build confidence.
For primary school students, lessons are interactive and encouraging, using clear explanations and plenty of practice to strengthen core skills such as arithmetic, fractions, and problem-solving. For GCSE students, I place more emphasis on exam technique, structured working, and tackling exam-style questions, while still ensuring strong foundations are in place.
I hold a degree in Accounting and Finance, which has given me strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. I bring this structured mindset into my teaching, helping students approach Maths logically and confidently. My aim is to create a calm and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, make steady progress, and grow in confidence over time.
