My lessons are structured, flexible and goal-oriented — designed to build real communicative ability and cultural confidence. I tailor every lesson to the student’s level, learning style and objectives (HSK, travel, work, school, or general conversation). I combine communicative practice with targeted explanation so you understand why a language point works, not just how to repeat it.

Lesson format & dynamics
Initial assessment & learning plan: First session includes a level check and a short conversation to identify strengths, gaps and realistic milestones. I then propose a personalised learning plan with suggested pace and resources.
Typical 60-minute lesson breakdown:
10 min — quick warm-up & review of previous homework
20 min — guided speaking & pronunciation (tones, fluency, chunking) through role-plays or dialogues
15 min — focused grammar/vocabulary with examples and controlled practice
10 min — listening/reading practice matched to your level (audio, short text)
5 min — summary, homework and targeted feedback
Interactive & student-centred: lessons include role-play, real-life scenarios (ordering food, business meetings), error correction, and immediate feedback. I emphasise active use — you will speak a lot from day one.
Materials & resources
Custom worksheets, graded readers, short audio clips and dialogues I prepare or adapt.
Recommended textbooks and apps (HSK materials, integrated multimedia) when appropriate.
Character-learning support with stroke order, mnemonic tips and spaced-repetition suggestions for autonomous study.
Teaching approach
Communicative + structural: balance fluency (speaking) with accuracy (grammar and pronunciation).
Task-based learning: practical tasks that simulate real-life use.
Scaffolded progression: break down complex structures and slowly reduce support as you gain confidence.
Multilingual support: C1 English — I explain grammar and compare with English where helpful; explanations are clear for English-speaking learners.
Assessment & progress tracking
Regular mini-assessments and short speaking recordings to track improvement.
Clear feedback after each lesson and a concise progress note every 6–8 lessons with next-step recommendations.
HSK-focused students receive targeted practice and mock tests.

What you’ll gain
