Shawana Raja

I am a qualified secondary Maths teacher. I have lots of experience teaching secondary and primary maths in various schools and have been tutoring maths for 18 years. I have been tutoring, mentoring and coaching students at a range of levels including SATS, KS3 and GCSE maths. I have taught students from a range of abilities including students with special needs. I believe anyone can love maths as long as they understand the topic. I am able to inspire pupils to love the subject I teach and to make them achieve more than what they think is possible. I also have experience of teaching 11 plus content for those who want to pass the entrance test. I have successfully tutored students that have got into highly competitive local grammar schools (Heckmondwike Grammar School). I use the latest teaching methods and my lesson are interactive and engaging. I also will tailor lessons according to the correct examination board if you are doing GCSE.

I have achieved excellent results all throughout my own education and have been a scouts leading so I know very well how to communicate with young people & young children. I am also bilingual, which is a great asset as I am able to explain maths in English and in the Urdu language too.
