My lessons are grounded in health psychology principles, with a strong focus on understanding how people think, feel, and behave in relation to learning. I recognise that every student processes information differently, so I adapt my teaching to suit a range of learning styles, including visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinaesthetic approaches.
Sessions are structured but flexible. We begin with clear learning objectives, followed by interactive teaching that breaks complex concepts into manageable steps. I use visual aids such as diagrams and mind maps for visual learners, discussion and questioning for auditory learners, structured notes and summaries for reading/writing learners, and practical activities or real-life examples for kinaesthetic learners. This multi-sensory approach helps reinforce understanding and improve retention.
Lessons are dynamic and collaborative. I encourage active participation, critical thinking and reflection, which are key components in health psychology and behaviour change. Regular feedback is incorporated in order to build confidence and track progress.
With six years experience supporting learners of different ages and abilities, including those with additional learning needs, I prioritise patience, clarity, and encouragement. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to ask questions, develop independence and achieve their full potential.
