My lessons are designed to take students beyond simply learning how to code. I provide structured, one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's ability, interests and pace.

The programme follows the UK Computer Science curriculum as its academic foundation, covering topics such as algorithms, computational thinking, programming, data representation, computer systems, networks, databases and cybersecurity.

Alongside this, students learn practical software development using JavaScript, PHP and Lua, building increasingly sophisticated projects throughout the course. Lessons are highly practical, with students encouraged to write, test, debug and improve their own code rather than simply watching demonstrations.

A major part of the programme goes beyond the school curriculum. Students learn how real software is developed and deployed, including registering and configuring domain names, setting up a Linux VPS, using GitHub, deploying applications, Docker, monitoring with Sentry, analytics, email infrastructure and backups.

The full programme runs for 48 weeks (a year with 4 weeks holiday), with a minimum of three hours of one-to-one tuition each week. Students also have access to additional questions, discussions and support outside their scheduled lessons.

The aim is to develop not just someone who can write code, but someone who understands 'how computers and software work, how to build applications, and how to put those applications into the real world'.
