I only tutor maths as it is my passion. I believe practise is the key to success in this subject as every calculation has more than one approach to get the solution. I like to spend more time completing various question styles with my students and teach them more than one way to approach a question. Our first lesson will always be a small examination for me understand the gaps in the student's knowledge and then I will create a lesson plan with a personalised topic order to match my students needs. We will then discuss if we are happy to go ahead with the personalised study plan or go according to their school curriculum. Every lesson will start with a small starter to recall what we learnt during the previous lesson. We will then look at a specific topic with examples and then the student will be provided with worksheets with exam style questions. Homework will be given to ensure that the student is keeping up with the lessons outside of our tutoring time. Once we are done with a topic, for example Algebra, a mini assessment will be given to get an idea of the students understanding of the topic. I will then provide the parent with a review on the exam. Each lesson will be engaging and motivating as they will be personalised to the student's likes. I have been tutoring for over two years now and this approach with my previous and current students have given me positive feedback on their lessons.
