I am a tutor in maths, physics and chemistry aiming at GCSE level. My goal is to boost students' confidence in these given subjects using examples, practice papers and exam style questions. I typically teach a section of content followed by a page of questions to consolidate the learning done in each session. I will start the session by seeing what the student knows about the topic before proceeding. This ensures I can focus on areas that need more help to improve. I am to be supportive with struggles and weaker points of the subject, and tailor each session to the student's needs. I want the student to feel comfortable in asking questions no matter how simple - this is about building confidence and ability equally. As a university student myself, I understand the pressure of exams at a young age (especially first public sat exams in GCSEs), and I know how important it is to have confidence in your ability. This is why I make my sessions a place to take each step one at a time. I make it clear, focused as well as patient so that good progress is made each session. As I get to understanding how a student works, I can adapt/personalise each session to them to make it more individualised to match the student's goals. I encourage the students to feel comfortable asking questions no matter how silly it may seem. Overall, I aim to leave the student feeling much more confident in their chosen subject with steady progress across sessions and proven results.
