I am a native Turkish speaker with a strong understanding of the Turkish language. I can teach beginners and intermediate students, helping them improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
I love interacting with people, especially those from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. I have experience working as a freelance Turkish interpreter in the UK, which has provided me with a strong foundation in clear communication and effective explanation skills.
In terms of my teaching approach, I plan to create personalised lesson plans based on each learner's age, language level, goals, and preferred learning style. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I take individual learning preferences into account. By identifying whether a student learns best through visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic methods (VARK model), I can adapt my teaching techniques to suit their needs.
I also believe that learning is most effective when students enjoy the process. Therefore, I aim to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and helps learners absorb and retain knowledge more effectively.
I would like to introduce myself briefly so you can get to know me beforehand.
My professional background is in law. I have a Bachelor's degree in Law from Turkey, and I qualified as a lawyer there. I then came to the UK and completed my Master's degree in Law with Distinction. I also have experience working as a Turkish interpreter, so communicating between English and Turkish is not a new thing for me. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Law in the UK, and I will be starting my PhD this October.
Besides my professional background, I would also like to mention some of my hobbies and achievements. I was a professional swimmer in Turkey when I was a kid and I came first in a swimming tournament in Ankara ( the capital city of Turkey). I was also a professional chess player during my university years and represented my university in the national league.
In the UK, I played volleyball for both my university team and a private volleyball club at the same time. In 2025, our private club finished second in the Yorkshire League.
Apart from these, I enjoy camping (especially in Scotland!), reading, playing chess and sudoku. I really enjoy meeting new people and learning about their languages and cultures. I would also love the opportunity to teach my own language and share my knowledge with anyone interested.
If you are interested, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you!
