What I like to do for students is i like to go through past exam questions for GCSE maths to build their confidence on how actual GCSE questions work and are laid out.

I would first explain how to do the topic, then we would do one question together and then I would let the student do a question on their own. If they don't know the topic or how it works, I would explain how to go through the question and what methods to use

Having completed GCSEs only a couple of years ago, I understand the 9-1 GCSE specification and what is required for the best grades. I am also aware of where students tend to slip up and I am willing to explain tricky subjects much more simply for students
