I aim to help students fully understand concepts rather than just memorising them. I break topics down into clear, manageable steps, use worked examples to demonstrate methods, and reinforce learning with exam-style questions. I also adapt my approach depending on the student, focusing on what works best for their learning style and current level.
Lessons are typically around 60 minutes, which I find allows enough time to cover content in depth while maintaining focus, although I am happy to be flexible where needed.
I am currently studying BSc Pharmacology at the University of Manchester, having achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, as well as an A* in my EPQ. Alongside my academic background, I have experience teaching as a swimming instructor, where I developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt quickly to different learners.
I take a professional and organised approach to tutoring, ensuring each lesson is well-prepared and structured so that students can make consistent progress. Through my experience working with young people, I have learned how to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material. I also focus on improving exam technique, helping students approach questions logically and avoid common mistakes, so they can perform at their best under exam conditions.
I am approachable, patient, and committed to helping students build confidence in their abilities. My goal is not only to improve results, but also to help students feel more comfortable and capable in their learning overall.
