I am a motivated and supportive mathematics tutor who is passionate about helping secondary and GCSE students develop confidence, understanding, and long-term success in maths. I believe that every student is capable of improving, regardless of their starting point, when teaching is adapted to their individual needs. My teaching method focuses on combining the new topics students are learning in school with focused support on the areas they find most challenging.

At the beginning of working with a student, I take time to understand their current level, strengths, and weaknesses. This allows me to plan lessons that are structured, clear, and personalised. When introducing new concepts, I break them down into manageable steps and use examples that are relevant and easy to follow. I regularly check understanding and encourage students to explain their thinking, helping them develop strong problem-solving skills.

Alongside new material, I dedicate time to revisiting topics students struggle with. I address gaps in knowledge, correct misunderstandings, and reinforce key methods to build a solid foundation. To support learning outside of lessons, I provide extra practice work tailored to each student’s needs. This additional work helps strengthen weaker areas, improve exam confidence, and encourage independent learning.

I aim to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My goal is not only to help students achieve higher grades, but also to build their confidence, resilience, and a more positive attitude towards maths. Through consistent support, patience, and personalised teaching, I strive to help every student reach their full potential.
