My lessons are relaxed, encouraging and practical. I adapt each session to the student’s age, level and interests, whether they are a complete beginner, a school student needing sketchbook support, or an adult wanting to return to art with more confidence.
We usually begin by looking at what the student wants to improve, then work through clear exercises in observation, line, proportion, shading, composition and colour. Depending on the student’s goals, lessons can include portrait drawing, still life, figure studies, expressive sketchbook work, watercolour, pastel, charcoal, pencil or mixed media.
I focus on helping students really look, trust their eye, and understand how to build an image step by step. I give gentle feedback, demonstrations where useful, and practical tips that make drawing feel less intimidating.
For younger students, I keep lessons structured but enjoyable, with achievable exercises and encouragement. For adults, I offer a calm, supportive space to explore drawing, creativity and personal style.
My aim is to help each student develop skill, confidence and pleasure in making art.
