Hello and welcome! I'm an experienced English and Philosophy tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience—online, in international schools, and in private tutoring settings. I hold a Master's degree in Philosophy, a TESOL certification, and I’m currently completing my PhD in Philosophy with a focus on ethics and migration. I’ve taught students aged 6 to adult, and I specialise in structured, engaging, and student-centred learning.

?? What I Teach
English as a Second Language (ESL) – from beginner to advanced

Academic English – essay writing, research skills, presentation practice

IB MYP & DP Public Speaking

Philosophy (University & High School level) – ethics, political philosophy, critical thinking

?? How I Teach
My teaching is guided by evidence-based, communicative, and project-based methods, adapted to the level, goals, and personality of each student. Here's how that works in practice:

Project-Based Learning (PBL): For teens and adults, I design themed units where students complete creative tasks (e.g., podcasts, blog posts, mock debates, presentations). This encourages real-life language use, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Task-Based Learning (TBL): Students complete real-world tasks such as writing a formal email, giving directions, or preparing a job interview. We reflect on the grammar and vocabulary needed to do these effectively.

Lexical Approach + Communicative Method: I emphasise meaningful vocabulary, collocations, and fluency over textbook-style grammar drills. Conversation is always central to the lesson.

Socratic Method (for Philosophy): I guide students with questions, rather than lectures, to help them develop their own reasoning. We build arguments step by step, using texts from Plato, Descartes, Spinoza, Arendt, or contemporary philosophers, depending on the level.

??? Materials I Use
Cambridge English curriculum (e.g. English in Mind, Empower, Think) for general English

Oxford Discover and Get Smart for young learners

Original materials I create using Canva, CapCut, and Notion

Google Docs + Slides for collaborative writing and live feedback

I always provide personalised homework, written feedback, and lesson recaps to ensure progress.

My Approach
Learning with me is structured, warm, and collaborative. I build long-term plans with you, track your progress, and celebrate every step. I value clarity, curiosity, and creativity—and I want my students to feel seen, heard, and capable.

Whether you're preparing for exams, developing fluency, or diving deep into philosophical questions, I’ll guide you with patience, insight, and genuine care.
