My lessons are one-to-one over video call (Teams), using a shared digital whiteboard so we can work through problems together in real time, just like we would in person. Each session is tailored to the student, whether that's working through exam board-specific past papers, breaking down a tricky topic step by step, or building up problem-solving technique from scratch.
I usually start by identifying exactly where a student is getting stuck, rather than re-teaching everything from the beginning, allowing me to utilise the lesson time effectively and from there, we focus on the core concepts first, then move on to applying them under exam conditions. I know from recent experience that understanding a topic and being able to answer exam questions on it under time pressure are two different skills.
I keep sessions interactive rather than lecture-style. This means plenty of questions and working through problems together. As someone who's just been through the GCSE and A-level system myself, I know which topics tend to trip students up and where marks are commonly lost, and I use that to focus our time where it matters most.
If you're not sure whether we'll be a good fit, I offer a free 15 minute intro call to clear any concerns. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
