I have a strong emphasis on learning and building on our mistakes and weaknesses. The only way we can progress to be better is to build on these areas. Therefore, after our first session we will have a consultation about your strengths and weaknesses and zoom into essays you have previously written with the goal of improving and exceling in the English language. I am keen to tend to where you feel you need help.

For example, if you struggle with a comprehensive and cohesive essay we will firstly examine your work and look over what can be improved. Then we will run through some exercises whether this be structure based content or literary techniques alongside an exemplar essay. What we will aim to do is build on the basis and core principles you have already adopted with the aim of making them outstanding.

Every student learns different and that is why I feel it is imperative that we communicate what works and what does not. If one explanation does not help you understand the first time we will tackle the problem from different angles together until we both are on the same page.

Most importantly, there is no reason why you cannot excel at the same rate of your peers. This extra time spent should not only give you a confidence boost in your writing but also reassure you in the English skills which you already possess. The majority of the time we have the right ideas and mindset but we just need that little extra support to get us there.
