I have been teaching English as a foreign language since 1990. For most of the time I was based in Moscow, Russia. I have diverse experience with both children and adults. My students over the years have said that my classes are stimulating, interesting and fun, and, at the same time, help them to achieve their goal of learning the language. Some have stayed for years as they simply enjoy the possibility to continue practising their language.
I work using the communicative method as I have found that speaking, using the language you know, develops communication skills. I have developed a method of finding the key that will make students eager to speak in English with confidence. I have many interests and am widely travelled, so am always eager to share interesting or humorous stories with my students.
It is important to make the student experience the language, for it to become part of them, not just a dry subject that is studied in school. My classes are tailor-made to suit the needs and interests of students. Besides speaking we also spend time studying grammar, this making it easier for the student to understand the structure of the language. Of course we also spend time doing written work, depending on the needs of the student
I also have a lot of experience preparing students for Cambridge exams KET, PET, FCE and IELTS.
So really the class depends on what the student wants and needs. It isn't school! The student chooses and I, as the teacher, assist you to achieve your goals!
