Hi, I’m Sarah, and as a grade 8 pianist, I have a lot of experience playing piano and I’d like to teach younger people how to play. I offer one to one private teaching online over video call with whatever platform you prefer.
I am able to teach the basics eg note reading and theory or give advice on other aspects of music/piano. If you are a beginner, I will start with reading notes and basic piano fingering with single hands. We will then move on to more challenging aspects such as playing with both hands or working with more complicated rhythms. For more beginner to intermediate players, I will teach you where to place your fingers for harder pieces and give feedback on how to improve. I am only teaching as a starter, not for applying for ABRSM or Trinity exams. However I can teach you the basics and get you started with the foundations of piano and music, boosting your confidence and helping you develop your skills later on.
Lessons will be tailored according to your skill and level. I do have beginner level books and you will not have to buy any resources, aside from having a keyboard or a piano.
I can also teach listening aspects of Music GCSE as I have done it recently with an outstanding grade.
I have experience at my school with teaching younger students how to play piano so I will be a patient and kind teacher. I want to teach piano as I can show children how necessary it is to embrace music.
