I am excited to offer tuition in English Literature for both GCSE and A-Level students, drawing on my recent academic experience and passion for helping others engage with texts in a meaningful way.

Having recently completed my sixth form studies, I understand firsthand the challenges and opportunities that these courses present, particularly close analysis of complex texts teachers set with no context or link to the actual lesson!

My lessons are designed to be structured yet flexible, focusing on clarity, discussion, and practical application. Typically, we would start with identifying key themes and techniques within a text, then work together on developing analytical skills and building essays that are coherent, compelling, and tailored to exam requirements. I like to combine explanation with interactive elements, such as guided discussions, short writing exercises, and constructive feedback on students’ work- I can mark and walk you through an essay, inspiring new ideas, particularly with my left over materials from English literature tuition if your exam board is AQA or you are doing Othello, Gatsby, and War courses including poetry, poetry as a whole, any renowned texts ranging from 1500-present.

While I am early in my tutoring career, my own recent experience with A-Level study, combined with a strong academic foundation and a genuine enthusiasm for literature, allows me to empathise with students’ struggles and motivations. I pride myself on being approachable, patient, and encouraging, creating a space where students feel confident to ask questions and take intellectual risks.
