I build my lessons on the below 6 metrics:
1.Lesson Plans & Pupil Progress Reports: I ensure that I incorporate well thought-out and effective materials and resources. Additionally, I ensure lesson plans and progress reports are submitted on time.
2. Punctuality & Time Keeping: I ensure that I am well-prepared for each lesson, I have a well-established track record of starting and finishing the lessons on time. I feel students learn from their teachers in more than one way, hence I ensure I exhibit great time management and organisation skills.
3. Energy & Engagement: I encourage positive student energy by bringing the lesson alive and engaging with students in a lively and fun lesson. This is important to ensure that the student is engaged and energetic about the class.
4. Creativity of Lesson & Presentation Skills: Highly creative and well thought-out ideas, activities and games for students. Examples include Kahoot quizzes, Christmas-oriented games.
5. TTT vs STT: I am quite conscious of Teacher Talking Time vs Student Talking Time, and I aim to maintain the perfect ratio of TTT - STT. It's important to encourage students to actively speak in the lesson. There should be a good balance of talking time between the teacher and student.
6. Student Understanding of Lesson: I ensure that the main concepts and aims are conveyed well to the students so that they can easily understood. I use multiple CCQs(concept checking questions) and ICQs(intuition checking questions) to make sure that the student is following the material. I am also very conscious of my speaking speed, and diction.
