I am a student who has recently completed my A-levels, having developed a strong passion for economics since first choosing it at GCSE. I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual needs. I first try and identify any gaps in understanding, then start from the basics if needed by explaining key economic concepts in a clear and simple way, most of the time using real-world examples to make the material more relatable. Sessions typically include a mix of explanation, guided practice, and interactive questioning to ensure active understanding throughout.

I have helped friends, as well as previous tutees, thrive in economics, with several improving their grades significantly from Ds to As within a matter of weeks through consistent support and focused guidance. I am highly committed to my students’ progress and go beyond scheduled lesson time when needed, offering additional help and answering questions to ensure they fully understand the material. Over time, I have developed a range of effective study strategies, tips, and techniques that I share to help simplify complex concepts and improve exam performance. I understand that economics can feel challenging at first, so I take pride in breaking topics down into clear, manageable steps. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to build their confidence and genuine interest in the subject, supporting them in a way that works best for their individual learning style. I also place strong emphasis on exam technique, working through exam-style questions, breaking down mark schemes, and helping students structure high-quality answers with confidence. As President of the Economics Society throughout sixth form, I regularly discussed economic topics, led discussions, and deepened my understanding of the subject, which I now bring into my teaching.

My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, stay engaged and steadily improve both their understanding and exam performance in economics.
