the first lesson will be me assessing what level of English you are at and how to proceed and get a basic conversation going- then from there lessons will mostly be in English and we will explore conversational English as well as some subject-specific vocab later on. alongside that, we will look at grammar techniques. My teaching method is simply to use conversation to incorporate more complex ideas and concepts of the English language as I found this is what helped me learn English best.

I also studied GCSE and A-level English literature and was graded A's at both levels and can work through essay technique and analysis - this would look more like reading texts together and discussing then together then giving an essay for you to write which we would then look at together and where it could be improved. I would also do some timed essay writing ready for exams, which would be closer to the end of our time together. I think it is most important to have students feeling ready and confident for the exams as this will also give them an advantage.

I worked in both primary and secondary schools as a teaching assistant so am well-versed in teaching a wide range of ages and can easily adapt to anyone of any age and ability!! tutoring for me is not just about learning things in the session but also giving the confidence for when you leave the session too!!
