I am an experienced tutor, having taught maths for SATS and a student who was retaking GCSE maths- passing as a result.
When tutoring maths, I use past paper mistakes to help students strengthen their understanding and exam technique. By identifying why the error happened—whether from a lack of understanding of the method, misreading the question or a calculation error—we will use mistakes as learning opportunities. This builds confidence, sharpens problem-solving skills, and reduces the chance of repeating the same errors in an exam situation.
I also encourage students to bring any questions or topics they would like to focus on, as I believe tutoring works best when it is tailored to their needs.
The sessions will be online via Microsoft Teams as I will be tutoring from my accommodation at Warwick University. In order to teach online I will set up OneNote groups with the student where we can section off depending on topic but also show live the methods and solutions to questions.
