Hello! My name is Sam and I have recently completed a Master's degree in English Literary Studies at the University of Exeter, where I also obtained a 2:1 degree in English. In addition to this, I studied A Level English Literature at school and received an A. I have always been passionate about writing and reading, and I believe enthusiasm played a key role in my academic achievements. Essay writing did not come naturally at first, but once I discovered the technique that worked for me, I saw real progress. I want to inspire you to enjoy literature too, because a genuine interest, combined with the right technique, can help you develop thoughtful analysis and improve your grades at school.

My lessons will be tailored to your specific needs. At the start, I will identify which topics or texts you need support with, and I'll create a short knowledge quiz to assess your understanding so far. This will help me to pinpoint areas of improvement, so lessons are focused and effective. I have experience working in secondary schools, as I am finishing a postgraduate qualification in education.
