I am currently in Y12 studying A levels. I took A level Maths and achieved A*s in Maths and Further Maths in GCSEs so I am confident in my ability and have more of an understanding about the right methods and techniques due to knowledge being more fresh than perhaps others.
In terms of my lessons, it will involve both teaching of concepts as well as mainly consist of practice questions as I believe they are the best way to understand topics. We will also focus on active recall so that previous content is not forgotten, highlighing spaced repetition. The content and dynamic of lessons will stay similar to most exam boards as they are similar, however alterations can be made accordingly as some have more topics than others. The key idea is to bridge gaps in knowledge by doing questions like structured examples and to prevent forgetting of previous topics.
For as long as I can remember I’ve supported my brother with maths topics that he wasn’t confident in and he always felt better after improving his knowledge in a concise and clear way.
