My lessons are structured, engaging, and fully tailored to each student’s individual needs, learning style, and academic goals. I begin by identifying areas of weakness or topics the student finds challenging, then break these down into clear, manageable sections using real-world examples and relevant case studies to make the content easier to understand and remember. I also focus on building a strong foundation of knowledge before moving on to more complex concepts, ensuring students feel confident at every stage.
Moreover, I regularly incorporate exam-style questions throughout lessons so students can practise applying their knowledge and develop effective exam technique. This includes teaching students how to interpret command words, structure high-mark answers, and also include specific case study evidence to maximise marks. I also provide clear feedback and guidance on how to improve, helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for.
My lessons are interactive and also supportive, and I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and actively engage with the content rather than passively learn. I place a strong emphasis on building confidence, as I believe this is key to academic success. To support long-term retention, I include short quizzes, recall activities, and regular review of key case studies and concepts throughout sessions.
In addition, I help students develop effective revision strategies, time management skills, and independent learning habits that will benefit them beyond Geography. My aim is not only to improve grades, but also to help students feel more confident, capable, and prepared when approaching their exams.
