My maths lessons are friendly, structured and tailored to each student’s individual needs, ability and goals. I believe that understanding the reasoning behind a method is just as important as memorising it, so I focus on explaining concepts clearly and helping students develop problem-solving skills they can apply independently.

I have experience working with children and young people through teaching and outreach activities, which has helped me develop a patient, approachable and encouraging teaching style. I understand that students learn at different speeds and may need concepts explained in different ways, so I am happy to adapt my approach to suit each student.

I usually begin a lesson by discussing what the student would like to work on and identifying any areas where they may need additional support. I then explain the topic using clear examples before working through questions together. Once the student feels comfortable, I encourage them to attempt questions independently while providing guidance and feedback when needed. I can also incorporate exam-style questions and timed practice to help students become more confident applying their knowledge.

As a second-year Biomedical Engineering student at King’s College London, I regularly use mathematics as part of my degree and have developed strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills. I achieved an A in A-level Mathematics, giving me a strong understanding of the subject and experience preparing for challenging exams.

My aim is not only to help students improve their maths, but also to build their confidence, encourage curiosity and give them the skills to tackle unfamiliar problems independently.
