I have 6 years of teaching/tutoring experience, teaching a variety of classes. The skills, qualities, values and knowledge I possess makes me a competent, professional and caring English teacher, these qualities include outstanding spoken and written skills, patience, clear diction and articulation, the ability to effectively and productively teach English to everyone, regardless of their age, background or their current level of ability.
I am very flexible when it comes to my teaching style as every student has specific needs, different goals and is unique.
I have a combination of 3 main teaching styles that I use dependent students I am teaching.
My most effective method is a communicative language teaching style. Here I teach English based on the various of situations my students will encounter in their daily lives. This has proven to drastically improve generalization of my students, meaning, it aids and encourages students to effectively practice what they have learnt in class, to many situations outside the classroom with a variety of people.
Secondly, I use a hybrid style. Here I teach using my knowledge and my experiences whilst staying within the boundaries of the curriculum to enhance specific needs and lacking areas of my student. This allows me to flexible, based on the educational and emotional needs and learning styles of the students I am responsible for. Using this technique makes students feels that their needs are being adhered too and that they being accounted for.
Lastly, I use a repetitive style of teaching, this means I revise old topics often and combine them in the new topics covered, this helps the student to retain the knowledge already learnt.
